Community & Stakeholder Marketing Manager

£32,000 per annum.

Full-time equivalent, Permanent, Hybrid flexible working.


An exciting and diverse role has arisen and we are looking for a passionate, diverse, and confident Marketing Manager to join our expanding team.


The Motherhood Group raises awareness of Black maternal issues, reduces the stigma of mental challenges within the community, and provides peer-to-peer support, free doula support, and free counselling support. The grassroots organisation also delivers training workshops to healthcare professionals, higher education institutions and other organisations to ensure Black mothers' voices are amplified, recognised and cultural competency is implemented in their work ethos. 

The Motherhood Group delivers National campaigns, collaborates with decision-makers to influence policy, co-produces within national research to improve Black Maternal Health, as well implementing digital and non-digital platforms to support mothers to improve long-term health outcomes. The Motherhood Group pioneered the UK's first-ever awareness week highlighting the disparities of Black women's maternal mental health outcomes and issues; Black Maternal Mental Health Week UK. 

Founded in 2016 by Sandra Igwe, The Motherhood Group has since supported almost 4000 mothers and birthing people, collaborated with just over 300 organisations, trained approximately 700 professionals, and successfully facilitated over 100 events.


About you:

The ideal candidate will thrive in a start-up social enterprise style environment and will possess the experience to manage the marketing remit of the organisation.


Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Successfully managing, delivering, and reporting on all assigned projects.

  • Overseeing the creation and delivery of content developed on social media, this includes managing all stakeholder and beneficiaries' communications, influencer management, and branding.

  • Experience with CRM and CMS systems including templated website design, SEO, AMP, and positively impacting domain authority. 

  • Confident in devising annual marketing strategies and reports.

  • Community engagement and interaction for mothers, beneficiaries and stakeholders.

  • Leading with the marketing of events, workshops, peer support campaigns, collaborations, signposting and focus group initiatives and training

  • You will be required to market and manage our engagement and output on projects and programmes, such as:

    • Events

    • Workshops

    • Awareness Weeks and our own annual Black Maternal Mental Health Week.

    • Black Mums Fest

    • Focus Groups

    • Peer Support Initiatives

    • Community Engagement Projects

    • Training Sessions

    • Campaigns 

    • Collaborations

    • Activism and advocacy campaigns

  • Great attention to detail and creative flair.

  • Confidently managing your own workflow using your own initiative and time management effectively adheres to deadlines.

  • Experienced in delivering on multiple projects simultaneously at various stages, demonstrating strong organisational skills.

  • Deadline focussed with a knack for remaining organised & efficient. Strong project management skills who enjoys overseeing multiple processes.

  • Strong time management skills and a team player with a positive can-do attitude

  • Have the ability to research and own an issue to resolution

  • Effectively plan and organise workloads in line with deadlines, including the ability to keep internal management and customer administration tools up to date at all times

  • Aspire to contribute creatively and innovatively to both The Motherhood Group, our beneficiaries and our stakeholders

  • Possess strong written communication skills with attention to detail

Desirable but not a requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Social Media Management, Business Management, Marketing Management, or equivalent.

Required: Minimum of 2 years in Marketing, Influencer Management, or Business Management and any other relevant role.
